Dear Friend, It has been a pleasure to serve our community as Pasco’s first female Superintendent of Schools during the past four years. We have achieved remarkable progress. For the first time, our district has earned an A from the State of Florida. While this is only one measure of our success, it is indicative of the tireless efforts of our entire team. Some additional highlights of my tenure are listed below: |
· Becoming one of seven districts in Florida to earn SACS-CASI district-wide accreditation
· Opening 15 new schools and staffing them with highly-qualified professionals
· Prioritizing classroom spending by having low administrative costs (3.0%)
· Preparing students for future success through Career Academies that allow students to earn
industry certification and college credit in high skill, high wage industries
· Ensuring the implementation of best-practices in every classroom throughout the district
· Collaborating with stakeholders to develop a Five Year Strategic Plan for the district’s success
· Displaying financial leadership in difficult economic times by presenting a plan to absorb the severe deficit in state funds while prioritizing classroom spending, preserving the employee compensation package and avoiding lay-offs.
I am extremely proud of these achievements and have a progressive vision for the future of our district. As we move forward, I remain committed to always doing the right thing for children. In order to continue my innovative leadership of our school district, I need your help. I would be humbled by your support of my campaign and look forward to working with you to ensure that every child in Pasco County continues to receive a quality education. Remember, an investment in the future of our children is a sound investment in our community.
